Do you often feel stuck or notice yourself feeling:
-
Trauma often results in intense and overwhelming emotions such as fear, sadness, anger, guilt and shame. These emotions can be difficult to manage and may lead to feeling emotionally numb or disconnected. Intrusive thoughts and memories of adverse events can feel overwhelming and distressing and can feel very vivid and real, interfering with a person’s ability to function effectively. Concentration difficulties, memory issues, and difficulty making decisions are common. Trauma can erode trust in others, making it challenging to form or maintain relationships.
-
Experiencing anxiety and depression can be incredibly challenging and can impact various aspects of a person’s life.
Anxiety can make it difficult to relax or concentrate and may lead to problems with sleep. Anxiety attacks or panic attacks may lead individuals to avoid certain places, people, activities or events that they otherwise really want to be present for.
Depression often leaves a pervasive feeling of sadness or emptiness leading to a loss of interest or pleasure in activities that were once enjoyable. Depression can lead to social withdrawal and isolation as individuals may feel disconnected from others or too exhausted to engage in social activities.
Anxiety and depression can manifest physically, leading to symptoms such as headaches, stomachaches, muscle tension, and fatigue. They can strain relationships and affect one’s ability to perform well at work or school.
-
Relationship distress can be emotionally taxing and can affect various aspects of a person’s life. Relationship distress often leads to intense emotional pain, including feelings of sadness, anger, confusion, and betrayal. Trust may be broken due to betrayal, dishonesty, or repeated conflicts, leading to feelings of insecurity and vulnerability. Relationship distress can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation impacting one’s self-esteem and self-worth. Individuals may question their value as a partner and internalize blame for the problems leading to feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt. Relationship distress is closely linked to mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. The chronic stress and emotional turmoil of troubled relationships can exacerbate existing mental health conditions or contribute to the development of new ones. Relationship distress can affect not only the romantic relationship but also other relationships, including friendships and family dynamics. Individuals experiencing relationship distress may feel uncertain about the future creating ambiguity and instability and fear about what lies ahead.
With empathic treatment, you can learn to process your experiences and find light in your life again.
